Proposal on foodstuffs intended for particular nutritional uses
Abstract
The Commission has decided that where legislative acts, such as the Directives relating to foodstuffs intended for particular nutritional uses, have been amended more than ten times, or where the laws relating to this subject are scattered over several different Directives or Regulations, they should be codified into one legal instrument, so that people do not have to spend hours cross referencing legal documents to try and find out what law applies. The Commission has decided to codify the Directive on foodstuffs intended for particular nutritional uses. The proposal should not change the content of any of the acts being codified.
The sole purpose of the above proposal is to bring together the different acts into one instrument with only such formal amendments as are required by the codification exercise itself.
As this proposal should not have anything new in it, NO EXECUTIVE SUMMARY HAS BEEN PREPARED.
Any organisations affected by these Regulations are advised to check the text of the proposal to assure themselves that it is indeed purely a tidying up exercise and that no new effects have inadvertently been introduced based on their understanding of the current law as it applies to them.
