Proposal for a Directive on criminal measures enforcing intellectual property rights
Abstract
This Directive requires Member States to treat infringments of intellectual property (including trademarks); product piracy; counterfeiting; and the manufacture, distribution and sale of fake products on a commercial basis as criminal, rather than civil infringments. It sets out the nature of infringements, and the required penalties.
